It is very important to us that you feel comfortable. The house and the garden offers you the freedom and opportunity to relax. In order to do this well, we would like to point out a few rules that are mportant to know for your safety, and also some that are important to us.

The Copper mine
The house is part of the historical (now closed) copper mine of Montecatini Val di Cecina. On the property there is an entrance to the copper mine, which is always locked. The mine and the entrance belong to the Comune of Montecatini Val di Cecina and it is not allowed to be opened or entered. If you want to visit the copper mine, it is possible at the Museo delle Miniere in Montecatini Val di Cecina about 3 Km from our house.
Streamlet (Macinaia)
The streamlet Macinaia, that flows through our property, belongs to the Province of Pisa. The running water is important and crucial to the economic structure of the Cecina Valley so please refrain from any activity that may cause a blockage to the flow of water. Even if the streamlet should be dried up in summer, the spring water from our property feeds the streamlet all year round.
There are also dangerous areas along the banks. Among other things, the stream flows over several cascades (part of the old copper mine) and in some places on the property there is a sheer drop of several meters.
We have a small wooden bridge that crosses the streamlet and we try to keep this in the best possible condition. Nevertheless, please be mindful when crossing as in the rain or humidity as the wood can be slippery.
Most importantly do not have many adults on the bridge at the same time as the excess weight could not only cause damage but be a safety risk to you and your family.
No open fire in the garden
No open fires are allowed on the property. Especially in the dry season (summer). This is also strictly supervised by the Comune of Montecatini Val di Cecina. Barbecues are of course allowed but again always think of possible fire hazards and only use our Gas-grill for having a BBQ.
